Eden's Mitzvah Project
December 2014
A Mitzvah Project is a social-action project for 12 - 13 year olds; it is an official part of bar and bat mitzvah preparation. Mitzvah projects teach kids about the responsibilities of Jewish adulthood, encourage the value of tikkun olam, (world repair), and giving back.
Meet Eden!
Hi! My name is Eden Goldberg. I live in Upper Dublin and I'm currently a sixth grader at Sandy Run Middle School.
I like to bake, play softball, and spend time with my family.
Last year my family and I adopted a puppy named Syd. He is a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix who has grown very big over the passed year since we got him.
We love Syd so much and he became a member of the family very quickly!
I know how much food Syd needs and how much he likes treats! So, I decided to do my my Bat Mitzvah project with Sam's Hope so that I could help people and their companion pets stay together.
I've donated my own baked handmade treats so far and plan to help deliver more treats and pet food to a few locals pantries during the holidays.
I look forward to staying involved and supporting Sam's Hope for a long time.
12/22/2014 - Today we had some very special helpers assisting us with pet food deliveries; Eden, her little brother Sam, and mom, Jami.
Eden whipped up a special holiday batch of her homemade, doggie-licious biscuits, which she donated to our partner food pantry in Warminster, the Coordinating Council of Health and Welfare.
Eden and her family then helped to unload the pet food and bring it into the pantries, and re-bagged cat food for distribution at Jesus Focus Ministry Food Pantry.
Thank you for all of your help, Eden, Sam and Jami, we look forward to working with you again in the New Year!
Thank you, Eden, YOU ROCK!
